Symbolic meaning of the sculpture:
The sculpture is a sophisticated combination of symbols, meanings and associations.
The melting clock expresses the omnipresence of time, and identify its mastery over human existence.
This symbol represents a metaphysical image of time devouring itself and everything else.
The golden egg is a symbolic motif, given the duality of its hard exterior and soft interior
and thus it is a symbol of both strength and resilience as well as love and tenderness.
The motto “CARPE DIEM,” taken from Roman poet Horace’s Odes, written over 2.000 years ago
means SEIZE THE DAY and is intended by the authors of the sculpture to inspire humans to make their lives extraordinary.
